An electronic components business with a national footprint in South Africa is seeking to employ a Technical Sales Engineer on a permanent basis at their Cape Town office.
Technical electronic components experience and knowledge, plus a background in Sales or Account Management in the relevant field is an absolute must.
Responsibilities
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with existing and new customers in the electronic engineering and manufacturing industry.
- Make appointments for daily visits to current and prospective customers to maintain and generate new business.
- Assist design engineers in selecting suitable parts for new designs.
- Identify and offer replacement parts for existing designs to engineers and buyers.
- Research sources and analyze the market for developing new potential customers.
- Organize and plan a personal sales strategy to maximize return and time investment.
- Achieve growth and account penetration by effectively marketing all product lines.
- Manage accurate forecasts and achieve targets.
- Report to management as to customer potential, prospects, new products, competitive activities, requirements, etc.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
- A degree or suitable technical qualification in Electronic Engineering (Light Current).
- Technical electronic design or implementation experience.
- Sales and or Account Management experience in the field.
- Fully computer literate, MS Office including Excel.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to complete projects.
- An aptitude for sales.
- Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skill.
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary: Basic salary of R20,000 to R40,000 / month, plus commission earnings. The basic will depend on skills and experience in this field.
