A large African based retail business is seeking to employ a Senior Systems Analyst within the Business Solutions Team, based in Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.
The Senior Systems Analyst will be the Product Owner of the company’s core retail solution and be responsible for the product’s roadmap and vision, owning the product backlog and managing all relevant stakeholders during product development.
The main objective of this senior position will be to create value through innovative solutions, by designing, building, and supporting software applications and systems that incorporate industry standards and best practices.
This role will form part of the division’s senior management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog
- Collaborate with stakeholders on feature prioritisation and trade-offs
- Set and maintain the product roadmap
- Ensure the product team understand the business requirements
- Propose new solutions and/or enhancements to existing systems, applications or data structures.
- Create and oversee business and functional systems specifications in support of business processes
- Management of the testing and Implementation of all systems changes
- Manage and participate in user training
- Manage user support.
- Project management and consulting
- Leadership and coaching
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- Minimum of 5-years retail experience, preferably in planning and/or buying or supply chain
- Minimum 5 years systems analyst experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
- Project management skills
- Presentation and facilitation skills
- Understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
- Understanding of Merchandise Planning processes
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes
- Analytical ability
- Strong mathematical ability
Salary: R70k to R90k CTC basic per month, dependant on skills and experience.
