An established Water Purification business based in Strand, Western Cape is seeking to employ a Maintenance Technician responsible for system monitoring and maintenance to ensure that all clients in various industrial and agricultural sectors are serviced according to the appropriate Service Level Agreement.
Salary – R10,000 to R15,000 per month, dependant one experience
Requirements
- Min 2 years’ relevant maintenance experience in the similar role, but 2 to 5 years will be ideal.
- Experience with water pump installations and maintenance will be highly desirable
- Ability to perform on-site maintenance activities and tasks, that will include assessing problem areas across – mechanical, electrical, chemical and plumbing
- Prioritise work and meet strict deadlines
- Able to manage general workers
- Structured, methodical approach to problem solving
- Motivated and a high performing individual
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and own transport
- Be able to communicate fluently and professionally in both English and Afrikaans
Primary Responsibilities
- Fully proficient performing troubleshooting, mechanical, chemical, electrical repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Act as the second coolant operator and quality control technician by performing quality inspections.
- Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.
- Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
- Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.
- Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.
- Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.
- Raises issues to minimise cost and quality exposures.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as required to meet maintenance goals.
- Problem solving and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.
- Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements.
- Give clear instructions to maintenance general workers to prevent any possible misunderstanding.
- Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
