An established and rapidly expanding transport and logistics business based in Illovo, Johannesburg, Gauteng is seeking to employ a Logistics Controller (Junior to Mid Level) on a permanent basis. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of goods in various sectors and industries within this brokerage company’s logistics and supply chain operations.

To succeed in this role, you should ideally understand and have experience in transport, logistics and supply chain controlling, as well as experience in coordinating logistics activities, but graduates will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners to optimize transportation processes and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and customs requirements.
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
- Prepare and present reports on logistics operations to management.
- Address and resolve issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
- Identify and engage transportation and logistics service providers to fulfill client requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their transportation and logistics needs.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field will be desirable, but experience will also be considered.
- Min 1 year work experience in transport or logistics coordination or a similar role.
- Solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong organizational skills & problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms beneficial and training can be provided.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
Salary: R20,000 – R35,000 / month basic salary, dependent on skills and experience.
