Business Systems Analyst (Retail Planning)

A large complex African based retail business is seeking to employ a Business System Analyst with in the Business Solutions Team, based in Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

The main purpose of this position will be to ensure bespoke Merchandise Planning systems and processes incorporate industry standards and best practices; and to provide business process and technology support to users.

You will need to understand and analyse the business; its models, processes and systems. You will form part of an agile product team working closely with the Product Owner to give input into the products’ roadmap, make changes to the products in line with business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders on prioritisation during product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding of Business process and conducting system enhancements to enable continuous improvement
  • Manage & determine business and system requirements for new solutions
  • Provide a Support service to the business to assist with any system queries/problems
  • Training /Knowledge acquisition and transfer

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering/ Honors degree in Operations Research or any relevant tertiary qualifcation with Analytical, Mathematical or Statistical subjects will be a major advantage.
  • 3-7 Years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Apply agile or waterfall methodology to take a BRD to a FRD level
  • Project exposure to implement and design solution in business
  • Facilitate training sessions/presentations
  • Project management / product owner skills
  • Hands on experience with software development and documentation
  • Able to explain technical details
  • Solid information of business systems
  • Able to develop ideas and share them clearly (in non-technical terms when required)
  • Be able to configure on application back end or front end (not develop)
  • The following will be an advantage:
    • Experience with Business Process Management (BPM) software tools
    • Programming experience (SQL)
    • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
    • Experience with cloud-based solutions
    • Business Objects, Qlikview, LookerStudio

Salary: R50k to R60k CTC basic per month, dependent on skills and experience
