An established Blinds & Shuttering business is seeking to permanently employ an experienced B2C Sales Consultant in Cape Town. The Sales Consultant will build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers by identifying opportunities, converting leads to sales, and championing the business in the marketplace.
Location – Cape Town
Industry – Manufacturing (Aluminum, wood, plastic & textile)
Department – Sales, Business Development & Account Management
Reports To – Head of Sales & Marketing
Salary – Commission only role with, but new appointees will receive a basic salary for the first 3 months. No cap on commission earnings.
Responsibilities
- Identify sales opportunities and convert these into sales.
- “Farming” – convert allocated leads into confirmed opportunities and sales (new and existing customers).
- “Hunting” – identify lead generation opportunities, generate leads, and convert into opportunities and sales (new and existing customers).
- Establish and build relationships with new customers.
- Have an expert knowledge across all the Company’s products.
- Provide recommendations on product/s application.
- Negotiate pricing.
- Have required technical skill to ensure accurate measurements and configuration recommendations.
- Liaise daily with Customer Success Manager (internal sales operations), Installations Manager and Production Manager, ensuring orders are captured, processed, produced and installed professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain consistent, timeous and regular communication with all customers to deliver an excellent service experience.
- Participate in all developmental programmes implemented by the Company.
- Keep National Marketing and Sales Manager and Customer Success Manager informed of any issues related to all sales and customer related matters.
Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification will be an advantage, but experience will trump qualifications.
- Min 2 years relevant experience in sales, business development and or account management within the design, lifestyle and/or building industry.
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to build relationships.
- Numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Technical ability - able to measure accurately and deliver configuration guidance.
- Highly structured with the ability to follow tasks through to completion.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, ability to work without supervision.
