An international geospatial software solutions provider is seeking to employ an experienced Software Solutions Account Manager in their Cape Town based office. Working with the companies local and internationally based project managers, business analysts, software developers, IT professionals and other industry experts, the primary responsibility of this English and French speaking Account Manager is to manage existing customer relationships, while developing their presence in new jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Global Director of Sales, the successful candidate with experience in one or all of the following industries: GIS/Geospatial, Surveying, Planning, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy or Government, must be a confident individual, possess excellent communication skills, and have 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role. A willingness to travel and work onsite with public sector clients across the entire Africa is also important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships and developing new long-term relationships with customers
  • Manage customer service level/support agreements including submission of reports
  • Upselling additional software and/or services to existing clients
  • Reviewing & documenting client requirements
  • Coordinate with Professional Services, Support and R&D teams to ensure client requirements are clearly understood and managed appropriately
  • Responsible for overseeing customer billings
  • Assist with proposal and tender compilations and submissions
  • Delivering client presentations and software demonstrations
  • Maintaining the corporate CRM/sales database


  • Tertiary Degree in Earth Sciences, Geospatial, Commerce, IT or related fields
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar Technical Software Account Manager role
  • Experience in GIS/Geospatial, Surveying, Planning, Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy or Government solutions on a small and enterprise level will be highly beneficial.
  • Experience working closely with African governments will be highly regarded
  • Excellent command of English ​and ​French languages (written and verbal)
  • Additional language skills in Spanish or Portuguese will be highly regarded

Remuneration – R50k to R80k ctc/month, negotiable and dependant on experience.
