A global software and solutions provider that develops in a diverse portfolio of location-based solutions targeting a wide variety of industries, is seeking to employ a Software Sales Manager to join their Africa team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Johannesburg, but extensive travel will be required both locally in South Africa and the rest of Africa.

This is a great opportunity for a Software Sales Manager with a successful sales track record to join this international business that specialise in measurement and visualization technologies that enable customers to design, measure and position objects, and process and present data.

Enterprise software sales experience within Defence, Aviation, Maritime and/or Utilities will be highly beneficial.

RESPONSIBILITIES (South Africa and Africa)

Primarily building up a new business in Africa whilst managing and further developing existing accounts, and executing Regional Sales Manager functions, mainly:

  • Business Development with end customer organizations as well as with integration partners and system integrators
  • Identification of new (outbound) opportunities and follow up/qualification of these; follow-up on (inbound) opportunities identified by our lead generation program
  • Relationship Management of existing accounts
  • Documentation of lead and opportunity development, generation of quotes, interaction with services for the creation of proposals, and general maintenance of the pipeline details for an accurate and timely capture in the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
  • Final negotiations and closing of opportunities, with a focus on large enterprise agreements and largescale opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

  • A hunting entrepreneur, enthusiastic at the prospect of building up business and relationships with new accounts “from scratch”
  • A leader in your own right, with a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • A proven track record of business development and/or account management in an enterprise sales context for at least 5 years
  • An existing network in the areas of Defence, Aviation, Maritime and/or Utilities will be beneficial
  • A born networker experienced in interacting with decision makers at C-level (high-level relationships at Government or Industry level are a plus)
  • A natural listener, with good interpersonal communication skills
  • A charismatic presenter in front of larger audiences
  • Proficient in English, any other language (especially French or Arab) is a plus
  • Good administrative skills in follow-up with customers and prospects
  • 40-60 % travel poses no issues for you
