An established niche South African technology business specialising in the development and implementation of geospatial applications plus providing consulting, training and support to individuals, companies and governments globally, is seeking to employ a GIS/Geospatial Software Developer to join their team on permanent work from home basis. The client develops geospatial software applications mostly within the Precision Agriculture, Space, Biodiversity Management and Humanitarian industries.

If you are a junior to mid-level programmer that is passionate about geospatial software development, building geospatial applications and are driven to work on cutting edge projects in a team or standalone, this will be a great opportunity for you.

Salary rage – R25k to R35k/month, dependant on skills and experience.

Requirements

  • Bsc Degree in Geomatics, Computer Science or Engineering highly recommended
  • Solid understand of GIS and Remote Sensing technologies, data and analytics
  • Junior to mid-level geospatial scripting/development experience a must

Technology – Junior/mid or senior level experience in all or most the following will be considered:

  • GIS – ArcGIS, QGIS and ENVI
  • Scripting – Python & Docker
  • Cloud – AWS or similar
  • Platforms – Android, iOIS, Linux, MacOS, Windows
  • Databases – PostgreSQL and PostGIS
  • Webservices – Django
  • Version control – Git, Github, Bitbucket
  • Project Management – Agile/Scrum
