This is a great opportunity to join an expanding financial consultancy as a SAIPA Trainee Accountant. The firm is located in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

The firm is looking for a self-confident individual with a completed financial degree, who likes to work as part of a team, but is also willing to take initiative and capable of working independently.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function and related duties for their clients, supporting both the South African and UK offices. They are looking for ethically sound candidates, wanting to perform tasks the right way first time round and someone who wants a long-term career at the firm.

Requirements

  • BAccounting / BAcc Hons / BCom Management Accounting / Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences / Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Driver’s license and own transport.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties
  • Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.
  • Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews
  • Invoicing and debtors’ collection
  • IRP5 calculations, reconciliations and submissions
  • Liaison with clients
  • Maintenance of SARS accounts
  • PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions
  • Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT and Import and Export licenses
  • Tax clearance applications
  • UIF registration and administration
  • VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions
  • WCA registrations, submission of returns and arranging letters of good standing

Salary:  R10k to R13k pm, depending on qualification.
