Our client is recruiting for an energetic Junior Bookkeeper to join them on a contract basis. This role will initially be a contract position with a possibility of permanent employment depending on workflow.

The candidate will be responsible for the bookkeeping and administrative duties, working directly under the accountant and general manager. The ideal candidate will have accounting system experience, Excel skills, and 3+ years’ bookkeeping and accounting experience.

The company is a professional business telecoms solutions and equipment provider based in Cape Town, with a service area across South Africa. They provide telecommunications consulting, call savings and telecoms solutions, including PABX systems and business VoIP products for small, medium and corporate organisations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capturing transactions on the electronic accounting system and on any other necessary systems (data entry)
  • Processing accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Preparation of year end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other admin duties
  • Sorting and filing of financial records
  • Provide administrative support and reporting to finance management
  • Supplier Purchase Orders (Stock Ordering)
  • Stock GRV & Stock Control
  • Reseller Agreements and Welcome Letters
  • Airtime Topup & Airtime invoicing
  • Debt Collecting
  • Creditors Invoicing and Statement Recons
  • Contributes positively towards a professional and pleasant working environment in the department and company
  • Always communicates professionally with colleagues and managers

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric + Qualified by experience
  • Diploma, degree or other relevant financial qualification will be an advantage
  • Experience: 3+ years related bookkeeping and accounting experience – Preferably on Sage 200 or Pastel Partner

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of account software packages, Pastel Evolution (Sage 200) & Pastel Partner will be advantageous
  • Excellent Computer literacy (MS Office – Word, Excel & Outlook)

Salary – R10-R15k ctc pm
