A large mid-tier assurance, accounting and advisory firm in Cape Town is seeking to employ a Corporate Finance Manager who will assist in managing and providing deal related services, from a financial and accounting perspective to both financial and strategic buyers and vendors. The successful candidate will also be required to perform valuations and be involved with advisory services.

This dynamic firm is a leader in their chosen markets, providing assurance, tax, advisory and outsourcing services to dynamic organisations, including listed companies, large privately held businesses and private equity-backed organisations. They also have significant capabilities in the public sector market.

Job description:

  • Corporate Finance Advisory: Deal with M&A projects including sale mandates, buy mandates, financial modelling and related services.
  • M&A Transaction Services: Support financial due diligence projects on both the buy and the sell side, and business modelling projects.
  • Growth & Turnaround: Work on the crossroads between Corporate Finance and Strategy Consulting and focus on both pre- as well as post- M&A solutions.
  • Help with issues such as growth strategy, performance improvement, turnarounds, financial & operational restructuring, integrations and separations/carve outs.
  • Participate in projects for our service lines with clients such financial institutions, funds and private equities, family shareholders, corporations and Trusts.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day activities of Corporate Finance client service teams executing on business improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to financial modelling, business process optimization, data analytics and visualization, financial statement review, and business plan assessments.
  • Collaborate with firm experts, professionals from other firms and client personnel to achieve engagement objectives.
  • Produce initial / draft reports (incl. changes after reviews and client feedback): Valuations and reviews; Fairness opinions; Due diligence investigations/reports; Specialist reviews; Financial models; Viability studies and capital investment appraisal; Mergers and Acquisitions and Management buyouts.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Participate in the development of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial consulting practice including assisting in marketing, client pitches and product and practice development.

  • To develop growth strategies based on their organizational goals, our services are designed to help clients be prepared to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.

  • Provide Consulting Training.
  • Keep abreast of relevant changes on own field of work i.e. law amendments, new practice notes, attend technical meetings, etc.
  • Identify areas of weakness and engage with Director to upskill and improve through training, GIBs and online self-development.
  • Write thought leadership commentary/ blogs and technical articles for the firm or participate in interviews and panel discussions representing the firm and Corporate Finance initiatives.

Requirements

  • CA(SA)
  • Minimum 1 years Corporate Finance or equivalent experience (essential)
  • Partial / fully complete CFA (preferred) Big four / large mid-size firm environment advantageous.

Salary – Market related.
