A well established and growing company in Somerset West is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their team.

The company provides professional business services and has property operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role. Payroll knowledge would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily, weekly and monthly accounting and processing up to trail balance.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monthly journal entries.
  • VAT reconciliations (assistance with income tax and provisional tax submissions).
  • Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of year end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other admin duties.
  • Payroll preparation.
  • Sorting and filing of financial records.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.


  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Accounting / Finance a bonus, or
  • Qualified by experience

Experience and skills

  • 2+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Must be able to work in Pastel Accounting
  • Sound payroll knowledge would be beneficial

Salary: R14,000 – R20,000 CTC pm, depending on experience and qualification
