Accounting and Audit Practice Accountant

An opportunity exists for a junior to mid-level experienced Accountant to join a small but growing Accounting Practice on a permanent basis. This position will be based in Somerset West.

LOCATION: Somerset West, Strand, Helderberg, Cape Town, Cape Winelands, Western Cape

Duties or parts thereof, dependant on experience:

  • Monthly accounting and processing up to trail balance.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monthly journal entries.
  • VAT reconciliations (assistance with income tax and provisional tax submissions).
  • Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements monthly.
  • Preparation of year end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other admin duties.
  • The preparation of financial statements for all entities
  • Preparation and timely submission of VAT and payroll
  • Review financial statements.
  • Review VAT calculations and submissions
  • Assist managers with various client matters
  • Professional correspondence with clients and management
  • Review financial statements of junior trainees
  • Review VAT calculations of junior trainees

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Finance or Accounting
  • Completed relevant professional arcticles in SAIPA, SAICA or SAIBA/CIMA or in the process of doing so.
  • Professionally registerred or in the process of doing so.
  • Work experience between 3 to 15 years.
  • Experience in an professional accounting or audit practice is highly desireable.
  • Excellent Afrikaans & English communication skills.
  • Own transport.

Salary R20,000 to R35,000 per month, negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.
